Abstract

The collection of papers edited by the full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladislav A. Lektorsky discusses a range of issues raised by the rapid development of modern artificial intelligence. Well-known philosophers, mathematicians, psychologists, neuroscientists, economists, and lawyers, address many important issues. These issues include the fate of science and the idea of digital immortality in the context of widespread digitalization, the prospects for the development of artificial intelligence, the way of understanding personality in the era of ubiquitous intellectual assistants, and considering AI systems as subjects of law, etc. The authors argue that AI systems should be developed to be human-friendly rather than hostile.
