Abstract

The article is devoted to the description of another (different from Kantianism) path of epistemology, which consists in analyzing not the conditions for the possibility of knowledge, but the historically existing phenomena of the production and distribution of knowledge in science. To do this, it is necessary to analyze different types of empirical material: scientific theories, intrascientific reflection of scientists and visible patterns of scientists’ activities presented in historical and sociological cases. The efficiency of this version of empirical epistemology (formed on the basis of the theory of social relay races by M.A. Rozov) is demonstrated by the example of epistemological analysis of psychology as a science. The key benefit of using empirical epistemology is that there is a fundamental opportunity to falsify the conclusions of philosophers, and due to this, to make the models and concepts of epistemology rich and heuristic that allow you to see the true science.
