The digital era has set a number of complex challenges to the scientific-pedagogical and philosophical community, including changes in the society’s attitude towards the modern educational process, and to its goals, objectives and methods. Based on the method of adjusting the reflective optics, using V.S. Stepin’s concept of scientific rationality types, author attempts to analyze the process of the emergence and further development of the Prussian mass education system, which became the basis for the development of the educational process throughout the world in the 19th and 20th centuries. He also offers his vision of a new level of the educational process – Anticipatory Education. According to the author, it will flourish in the nearest future due to the development of digital technologies and a radical change in the perception of the education system among all actors of the educational process.
